Prune Terms and Conditions
About These Terms
Effective October 11, 2026These terms are an agreement between you and Gregory Pickart ("we", "us", "our"), the developer of Prune. "Prune" or "the Service" means the Prune apps for iOS and Android, recipe share links at share.prune.recipes, and any related websites and services.By creating an account or using Prune, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use Prune. Our Privacy Policy explains what personal information Prune collects and how we use it. It is part of these terms.
Your Account
You need an account to use Prune. You can sign up with an email address and password, with Google, or with Apple.• Age. You must be at least 13 years old, or older if your country requires it to use an online service without parental consent. If you're under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms on your behalf.• Accurate details. Give accurate sign-up information and keep it up to date.• Security. Keep your sign-in details private. You're responsible for what happens on your account. Tell us at [email protected] if you think someone else has accessed it. We recommend not jailbreaking or rooting your device, since that weakens its security and may stop Prune working properly.• Deleting your account. You can delete your account at any time from the Manage Account screen in the app. Deleting your account permanently removes your recipes, grocery lists, settings, and any recipe copies you have shared. It can't be undone.
Your Content
Your recipes stay yours. "Your content" means the recipes, ingredients, directions, notes, grocery lists and anything else you add to Prune, including recipes you import.• Ownership. You keep whatever rights you have in your content. We don't claim ownership of it.• Permission you give us. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to store, copy, process and display your content only as needed to run Prune for you. For example, we sync your recipes across your devices and show a shared recipe to people who open its link. This permission ends when you delete the content or your account, except for any copies other users have already saved to their own accounts.• No selling. We don't sell your content or use it for advertising.• Your responsibility. You're responsible for your content, and for having the right to add and share it.• Keep your own copies. We work to keep your content safe, but Prune isn't a backup service. Keep your own copies of recipes that matter to you, for example by printing or sharing them.
Importing Recipes from Websites
Imported recipes belong to their original authors, and Prune imports them for your personal use. When you give Prune a link, the app loads that page on your device (sometimes in a hidden in-app browser) and pulls out the recipe for you to review and save.• Personal use only. Use imported recipes for your own cooking and meal planning. Don't republish them or use them commercially without the owner's permission.• Source sites' terms. You're responsible for following the terms of any website you import from.• No affiliation. Prune isn't affiliated with or endorsed by any website it imports from. Site names belong to their owners.• Accuracy. Imports can be incomplete or wrong, so check them against the original page. Some sites may block imports or not be supported, and we may change which sites work at any time.
Sharing Recipes
A shared recipe link can be opened by anyone with a Prune account who has the link, for up to 90 days. When you share a recipe as a link, Prune publishes a copy of it to our servers.• Who can see it. Assume anyone you send the link to, and anyone they forward it to, can view the recipe and save it to their own Prune account.• How long it lasts. A shared copy expires 90 days after you share it. You can remove it sooner with Stop sharing on the recipe. It is also removed when you delete your account. Copies that others have already saved to their accounts belong to them and aren't affected.• Other ways to share. Recipes you share as text or PDF go through other apps, whose own terms apply.• Share only what you may share. For a recipe you imported from a website, consider sharing a link to the original page instead.
Acceptable Use
Use Prune lawfully and for its intended purpose: keeping and cooking recipes. You agree not to:• break any law or infringe anyone's rights, including copyright;• add or share content that is unlawful, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, or that contains malware;• use share links to store or distribute anything other than recipes, or as general file hosting;• try to access other people's accounts or data, or probe, bypass or interfere with Prune's security;• overload Prune or access it with bots, scrapers or other automated means, other than through the app itself;• copy, modify, decompile or reverse-engineer the app, except where the law allows it;• resell, sublicense or commercially exploit Prune;• impersonate anyone. We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules.
The App and Our Intellectual Property
We own Prune; you get a personal license to use it. The app, its code and design, and the Prune name and logo belong to Gregory Pickart. This excludes your content and third-party content.• Your license. We give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use Prune, for non-commercial use, on devices you own or control, under these terms and your app store's rules. If you downloaded Prune from Apple's App Store, Apple's standard EULA applies instead.• Restrictions. Don't copy, modify, translate or make derivative versions of the app, and don't use our name or logo without our permission.• Open-source parts. Prune includes open-source software. Those components are covered by their own licenses, which take priority for those components.• Feedback. If you send us ideas, feature requests or suggestions, we may use them freely, with no obligation to you.
Price, Updates and Availability
Prune is currently free, with no ads or in-app purchases.• If that changes. If we introduce paid features, we'll show the price clearly before you're charged.• Updates. We may add, change or remove features. Some features may need the latest version of the app or a supported version of iOS or Android. We don't promise that Prune will support every device or operating system version.• Internet and data. Most features need an internet connection. Your mobile carrier's data and roaming charges apply.• Availability. We aim to keep Prune running, but we can't guarantee it will always be available or error-free. Maintenance, outages and problems with third-party services can interrupt it.
Third-Party Services
Prune relies on these third-party services. Their own terms and privacy policies apply, and we aren't responsible for them.

Recipes, Food safety and Disclaimers
Prune helps you organize recipes; it doesn't write, test or check them. Recipes in Prune can contain mistakes, whether you typed them, imported them or received them from someone else.• Scaling. Scaling a recipe only multiplies its quantities. It doesn't adjust cooking times, temperatures, pan sizes or seasoning.• Food safety is your call. You're responsible for food safety and for deciding whether a recipe suits you. That includes allergens, dietary needs, safe handling and storage, and cooking food to a safe temperature.• Not advice. Nothing in Prune is medical, nutritional or dietary advice.Warranty disclaimer. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Prune is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. That includes warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, and that Prune will be uninterrupted, error-free or never lose data. Some places don't allow these exclusions, so some of them may not apply to you. Nothing in these terms affects rights you have under consumer law that can't be waived.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.• Excluded losses. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages. We also aren't liable for lost data, profits or goodwill arising from your use of Prune or your inability to use it. This applies even if we were told such losses were possible.• What we don't limit. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't be limited by law.• Claims about your content. To the extent the law allows, you agree to cover our reasonable costs if a third party brings a claim against us over content you added or shared, or over your breach of these terms.
Ending These Terms
You can stop using Prune at any time. To remove your data, delete your account.• If we suspend or close your account. We may do this if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if the law requires it, or if it's needed to protect Prune or other users. Where it's reasonable, we'll tell you why first and give you a chance to fix the problem.• If we shut Prune down. We may stop offering Prune. If we do, we'll try to let you know in the app or by email, so you have time to print or share recipes you want to keep.• What happens next. When these terms end, your license to use Prune ends and you must stop using the app. Other terms continue to apply that by their nature should.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms. When we do, we'll post the new version at terms.prune.recipes with a new effective date. For significant changes, we'll also try to let you know in the app or by email. If you keep using Prune after a change takes effect, you accept the updated terms. If you don't agree, stop using Prune and delete your account.
Governing Law and Disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, USA, not counting its conflict-of-law rules.• Talk to us first. If you have a dispute with us, email [email protected]. We'll try to resolve it informally within 30 days before either of us goes to court.• Where. Any dispute that isn't resolved goes to the state or federal courts in Suffolk County, Massachusetts, and you and we agree to their jurisdiction. Either of us may instead bring a qualifying claim in small-claims court.• Your local rights. If the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim in your local courts, or to rely on your local consumer law, these terms don't take that right away.
Apple Devices
If you downloaded Prune from Apple's App Store, your license to use the app comes from Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the "Standard EULA"), not from the license here. These terms still apply to everything else, including your account, your content, importing, sharing and acceptable use. If these terms and the Standard EULA conflict about your license to the app itself, the Standard EULA wins.Apple's Standard EULA

If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest still applies.• No waiver. If we don't enforce a term right away, we can still enforce it later.• Transfer. You can't transfer your rights under these terms. We may transfer ours, for example to a company we form or to a new owner of Prune, and we'll tell you if we do.• Events outside our control. We aren't responsible for delays or failures caused by events we can't reasonably control.•** Interpretation.** Headings are for convenience only, and "including" means "including but not limited to".
